Future building plans allow for three distinctive home types, and three award-winning builder groups, making it one of the most exciting home destinations in the Cowichan Valley.

Phase 1 completion scheduled for June 2026

In preparation for the highly anticipated Elk Ridge Community Phase 1 release, which includes 3 future show homes, 103 single-family lots, including a 3 acre zen park, with a permaculture demonstration space.

The Elk Ridge development team carefully vetted 12 Cowichan based builders, before selecting the preferred builder group for this flagship community.  Based on specific benchmarks in home building, including custom home portfolio, quality, craftsmanship, innovation, and safety practice. Three builders were awarded positions within the Elk Ridge preferred builder group, including 2nd generation Ravenstone Construction, Bob Thomson Construction and Alair Homes.

“We are incredibly excited to partner with some of Cowichan Valley's finest builders,” says David Salmon, Founder and CEO of the Elk Ridge Community.  “We went through a lengthy RFQ process and it wasn’t an easy decision, but the builder group selected shares the partnership’s vision for the community.”

While each of the builders at Elk Ridge has garnered recognition for custom home building, each offers a specific niche that in-market buyers are looking for. These options when paired with the Elk Ridge Design Guidelines, offer a variety of Cowichan west coast inspired architectural styles to choose from. Buyers can also opt to build a custom or semi-custom home on a cost plus basis. Elk Ridge will also make exceptions and consider other builders if buyers have their own preferred custom builder. In house financing options will become available.

In addition to custom builds, Elk Ridge in later phases will also offer a range of multi family lots and builds as well as planned condominium projects.

Future Elk Ridge homes will offer designer-inspired colour palettes, with a host of options and upgrades to choose from.  The home package will offer a personalized touch, with the allure of a lock-and-leave lifestyle.

“Cowichan Valley residents have been waiting for the Elk Ridge Community project  for years,” says Mathew Rothschild, Strategic Business Advisor.  “Now that we are finally at a point where pre sales can begin, the true magnitude of the development needs to be seen in person to be truly appreciated.”

Designed to complement the naturalized landscape and existing trail connections, Elk Ridge promises to be a destination for outdoor and lifestyle enthusiasts alike, well-situated off Hyw 18 just minutes outside the city of Duncan. The Elk Ridge Community plan offers convenient access to Duncan businesses, shopping, schools, and world-class wineries, with the wonders of Cowichan Bay, Maple Bay beach, Mt Tzouhalem hiking, mountain biking trails, Cowichan River provincial park,  Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit and The Cowichan Golf course just moments away.

In future phases, Elk Ridge will also include a walkable urban village, complete with boutique shops and restaurants, a sports plex, village square park, a Resort and Artic spa, a private medical Center and plans for a private school.

For outdoor enthusiasts, the Trans Canada trail  will soon connect to existing interconnected trails within the community giving direct access to the Cowichan Valley and beyond.

The Cowichan valley offers over 200 Community Parks, eight Regional Parks, two Regional Trails, as well as Cobble Hill Mountain Regional Recreation Area.

From the front door, additional opportunities to hike, bike, ATV, hunt and fish are available to the community.

" We are building a community focused on sustainable practices, food security,  and health and wellness. We feel that as developers we have a duty to simply do better and create a sustainable model that allows residents to thrive and strive towards better balance and optimal health."

says David Salmon, Founder and CEO of Elk Ridge.
